The sun so bright it woke me up

Where’s the gloomy weather? The sun literally shone on my ass today, it’s a sign I shouldn’t concussed any longer and be productive. But with one last paper dangling, I so wanna look beyond that and think of what can be done after exams.

I know… I have The Wine Company date with the 50th this Friday. They are the fastest post exam planners, booking everybody wayyyy beforehand. But so sad, I’m like the last person on earth (amongst them) to finish exam.

I wanna go visit Noah’s Ark again.

I am going Penang. Grandma!

I am determined to set up our own site.

I am so looking forward to picking up my dear G9 again. Oh dear G9 how I miss you and you are going around the world with me again! Love you don’t be upset ok.

I am…taking driving test before I go Penang.Bless me.

Speaking of blessings, I forgot to bring my good luck amulet to school for first two papers. Which might explain why I might screw up the papers. Felt more assured when I brought it for subsequent papers. Thanks Effie! Haha now I can’t do without it. And Spongebob has been watching me write in the exam hall. He better don’t screw me up. HAHAHA.

Christmas…..I want cash leh. I’m having deficits which are cutting so deep, I’m suffering from debts of roughly the same percentage as Dubai right now. I need a bailout. Driving is costly, allowances is merely enough to pay my concessions and bills, I see $0 every month.

GAHS! how to have fun when every spending equals to negative infinity? @#$%@^%#&.

Last night, I watched a marvellous sand painter. Pretty Ukranian artist! And what good story she tells. AMAZING.

Ok go study already.

Been awhile.

Hello people, I thought yesterday was Tuesday, so today’s Wednesday, tomorrow’s Thursday. Which made me missed tuition for the second time in a week! That’s what the lack of sleep does to you.

So Tuesday was spent in school, through the night, in the not so comfy honors room, but with awesome people around. Essay spent arguing with each other, almost punching each other, accepting each other’s opinion, grammar got corrected by English teacher to be Emily, then rephrased to match our lower standard, eat prawn crackers, cups of hot drink, sushi, blah.

5AM, Matt announced that it was the peak for meteor shower, we ran, left our soon to be done essay, climb up to the rooftop, stared at the brightly lit sky, Singapore is too fucking bright, we stared and somebody exclaimed there really was meteors, we tuned our eyesight to 100000% max, really have, lots of them, it’s like a TV tuning gone wrong with the fizzles. Can’t stop exclaiming how amazing it was, and for a moment, we were damn happy. At 5 am in the morning.

Best night, best honours time ever for now.

We watched this clip that same night and the song got into my head.

There was a Batam trip not long ago, and I fell in love with this:

DSCF0671Milk in a can!

I’m left with one can, can’t bear to drink it up. =/

DSCF0696 I don’t know who took this, but…

Meeting up with department profs and alcohol is on the menu.

Time to get serious about climbing. No more rentals for stinky smelly shoes!

Duper good 4th year

It’s only until now, you’ll see who are the friends buzzing by and forget who you are, who are those who bothers / me bother to drop a text for lunch, a sign of a treasured friendship.

I’ve never knew I could have so many friends, and have found good ones that I will want them to last.

With so many shit things happening around, I know I can still count on you guys.

I do miss having Wan Ting around.

But there’s still very awesome people around me to keep me going, continuing the bitchin’, and keeping me strong.

4th Year will still be good despite having people with too high IQs but simply low EQs.

Either that or it’s clearly a matter of class differences.

But I have a good bourgeoisie friend.

This is such an emo post.

I don’t know how to continue now.

I’m just thankful.

Movie: “9” on 9/09/09 @ 9pm

Makes this day kinda cool, not lame like trying to wake up at 9.09am.

I’m hungry now. Khansama is making very active advertisements on bridges in Singapore:

I want to go!

Tweet + Festival = Twestival! Go have fun!

From Twestivalsg:

Twestivals” –or, Twitter Festivals – are the volunteer-run, charity fundraising events held globally at the same time for people who know each other through the micro-blogging service twitter.com.”

The beneficiary this time is Children's Cancer Foundation.

Tickets are $10, with 5 coupons in $2 form to play some games!

Bibu and I are going! =)

Vintage Polaroid Land Camera 800! Finally got it

I have been trying my luck in getting one off ebay but the shipping prices were ridiculous (okay, I admit land camera is VERY heavy) for my pockets to handle, OR it only ships to United States.

Singapore is not in China! I don't pay through sleazy banks. I use Paypal okay.

BUT NOW I HAVE ONE! off Ebay, lugged it back from the post office. Super wrong choice to cycle over to save time and ended challenging myself to balance a 4kg item on one hand and cycle.

The leather carrier…is the exact same size as the box.

Top Grain Cowhide. Moo.

Funny lookin’ flashbulbs

Exposure meter, Wink Light (it adds more tons to the already humongous camera), some very pretty instruction cards, and a thirty-five cents magazine.

I managed to open it in a couple of minutes, but took forever to figure out how to close it. There’s a handle on top to carry, when placed horizontally it’s is like having two DSLRS.

Huge times 5-6 compact cameras + much more weight.

Sheesh, photographers sure grow muscles in those days.

Gigantic grasshopper flew into my room

It’s second week into school and the momentum is FAST and boy, it’s mentally draining. Keeping up deadlines after deadlines means staying up late to meet the 12 midnight mark or whatever timing the profs sets the work to be done by.

So in the middle of the night two nights back, I had a company.

IMG_3187 IMG_3186

Some mutated big ass grasshopper flew and landed on my polaroid.

Bad choice to ask my sister to come in and view this marvellous creature, for she screamed when it jumped, flew, and jumped and flew. She screamed as if she was in a haunted house, and my parents FLEW out from their room, jolted up from sleep with her dreadful screamings.

So I decided to make my $2 Daiso display case be of some use:

TADAH! It jumped right into the case.

But I released it when I realized it has the power to jump so forcefully, that it hit the acrylic case and it’s back started bleeding.

One hell of a angry grasshopper.

I smell freedom

I can’t sleep, but I have finished up a report, ready to throw at someone’s face.

I better get my pay, so that after 31st July (which is today) , I can stop tolerating stingy people , get rid of the fake pretentious act I’ve been keeping up (towards SOMEBODY + SIAO CHARBOR).

With some cash from the miserable pay, I can go climbing this Saturday, find Effie who’s travelling solo from Taiwan over the weekend, sit down and think about breadth modules I can take (not many choices, damn), pack my room, etc etc.

My girl is going out with another girl on Sunday. I’m free.

I just want to keep saying,

so sad.

Anybody want to buy things from drugstore.com/beauty.com? Hop on my shopping list!

ASOS sale! Use direct shipping, forget about troublesome vPost!

Whee whoo! My sister told me about the sale going as crazy as 1pound (SGD 2.30), I had to check it out. They ship to Singapore, like American Eagle, but CHEAPER!

So I grabbed a lounge pants at 4 pounds, top at 3 pounds, and Brenda got a Fred Perry Peter Pan white top at 20 pounds.

Shipping goes by weight, but ours was about 3.95 pounds which comes about SGD 2-3 per item for shipping.

Forget about sprees, buy them yourself! Click the picture above and start shopping!

A laptop for my dad.

He told my mom it’s too slow. 513MB RAM for a basic user, TOO SLOW.

Should have guessed it since he uses the desktop over the laptop.

My sister doesn’t help, from the start say this com has lesser speed, very slow. She say gonna put one RAM in, up till now I don’t hear it.

No heavy applications, how can it be slow?

Pay bills for my mom.

I absorb the hubstation rental.

She never pay me back for two months. (April/May bill)

Now it’s two months worth of bills unpaid (June/July)

Gave me back two months + 1 month.

Told her need one more month, she question about the bill. I use mastercard, I never touched the hardcopy.

I’m helping to pay bill with 50% of my allowance gone one shot and get back very very late.

Hubstation was switched off that day, don’t know by who. Bro complain that day that hubstation cannot record because of the switching off from main power.

My fault is it?

Got things, then come and find me. Shit you all lar.

Countdown. what, again?

Aiya, to be honest I never liked countdowns (I did in earlier post). When I was in Secondary school, the teachers like to flash this proudly done banner with slots to dump the numbers in descending order at the assembly area. Those speaking will be one stairs up and the banner is right in front of them facing us, which is really pressurizing.

Then there’s countdown to New Year, Chinese New Year, Christmas, where everyone screams for joy for that miraculous half hour. Last time, I never knew what to feel. My family+ extended family has this habit of shaking hands at my Grandma’s place when counting down for Chinese New Year. Everytime somebody shook hands with me, I feel like crying. Cry because I was very stupid to know how to respond to people, and don’t know whether to be happy or sad. Maybe I was too inward and depressed or something.

Now, I don’t feel like crying; I put my bestest smile on and be crazily excited.

And now, countdowns are the best thing to do when you just want things to arrive or things to go away.

Like my internship. GO AWAY

Like KL trip. This weekend. FASTER LEH!

Beanie for head not beanie babies!

Ebay.sg is crap. Google can be crappy too. You can’t type ‘beanie’ to get headwear; it’s filled with either

OR worse

Man this is a scary lookin’ Patrick or what. No wonder nobody want to buy on Ebay.

Now my safe option is Etsy but COME ON, some of the sellers’ shipping charges are a little too crazy! It’s just a beanie! Singapore is NOT that far away man.

Any other shop sells nice lookin’ headwear and don’t charge much for shipping?

no more hair! @ Hair for Hope 2009

Serious! My dad surprisingly said that it looks good, and reminded my sister about the scar she planted on my head when we were young. I live in a violent household. The scar in front is not the one, I don’t know where that came from.

Thank you Qiwen and Brenda’s mom for the donations=)

Mos burger

Orchard central has an outlet and it’s kinda different. Soups are thick not watery, and served in a:

Soup bowl. And soup spoon comes along.

Teas are served in teacups, rattan baskets replaced the usual white plastic ones, regular size cold drinks served in glasses.

Their burgers are nicely done too, as rated by bibu the mos addict.

What are you tired of?

Few minutes ago I found Osocio through a Tweet by springwise. It’s a site that features social advertising and non-profit campaigns around the world. Then like any other new media wannabe, I immediately hook them up on Twitter and Facebook.

One of the first few tweets from Osocio was this website which goes “I’m tired of….”

It’s not asking about the nitty gritty things in your personal life which you’re tired of. (I’m tired of my internship right now)

It’s asking about global issues that you’re “tired” of.  They sell bracelets and shirts, and 50% of profits goes donated from a good cause. Their bracelets are pretty neat, and they have a flat shipping regardless of quantity. What is more they allow charities/ organizations to order their bracelets at a cheaper price, sell them, and the profits goes into fund raising.

I immediately thought of how, in NUS, for a charity fundraising, it’s always  TEESHIRTS that people won’t wear out proud, some STALE DOUGHNUTS, some BUTTONS, some CARDS….

Maybe Imtiredonline can do the trick. I would gladly buy their bracelets, made from recycled rubber tyres and metals. Looks good too. Save the environment at the same time.

NUS little fundraisings are sometimes kinda lame.

I have always been a closet cufflink fan but have never gotten one. I admire the designs, but I can’t wear it simply because I’m not a guy.

Click picture above to get to seller’s page

But Gearcrave on Twitter showed me this and I had to buy it. Like ASAP when I saw it past midnight last night. What should I use it for? Hmm.

This post is actually to tell Sharon: Perhaps you can get for KC too before it’s gone!

Boobs from Twitter

The first mail on the list was somebody following me on Twitter. I thought it would be some random donzos who treats twitter like old skool friendster, adding 101 friends they don’t know look like they have a lot of friends.

Today was perhaps no different, except…

When I went to her website from twitter, I was greeted by….

Her boobs. Wow. Those interested just ask me for the website, or perhaps some of you already know. Not porn, just a nude model.

Via Ferrata

@ Orchard Central. Go now, promo’s 5 a climb. Gonna go again with Wan Ting!

Ipod touch/ Iphone applications are amazing and amusing

I’m on a rampant catching up on ipod touch applications online and there’s always many applications I’ll be curious and download.

My module mate Fuzzy once told me that she slept in the train and it went till the end and back. If she has an ipod/iphone she can use this:

Station Alarm SG

Just set which station you are and which station you are alighting at, then sleep/snore like nobody’s business.

NYC has similar application though I daresay their picture is…much better:

NYC subway snooze

Sad to say I downloaded neither. Not a train person in Singapore.

I downloaded free books, free travel guides, free language guides, and free things like

So that Brenda Then can have a virtual Puffy.

For those with cars

Those who drives might find this kinda cool, with petrol prices roundups, reports and discussions on current promotions and discounts.

And it lists the petrol stations island wide.

Something good for the us – the budget people.

I don’t have a car and I still want that skateboard…

Arniko skateboard

Top on my wish list. Skateboard from Nepal, perfect for cruising down my friendly neighborhood!

The battle of subs

I remember telling Brenda that there’s this advertisement on TV that blatantly claim that it is better than subway. That was when I was staying in the States. This sandwich chain has super lame commercials, invites gay connotations, racism or simply porn-ish.

I can’t find the one I watched last year, but this one’s similar.

And this is the one that got banned. Don’t watch it without earphones, the moaning is super disturbing.

Anyways Quiznos is in Singapore, with one at Far East Square and another’s going to be at Orchard Central. Speaking of which, you should really go Orchard Central now with the low crowd and get a breathtaking view of orchard road from the 7th level. Mini Empire State-like!

But the best subs I have tasted was Potbelly Sandwich Works and Brenda got to try that when we went Baltimore! By pure luck, they had an outlet there. My first Potbelly was in Chicago and the bread was sooooooo good.

I bet I will still love Potbelly after trying Quiznos.

Kill cockroach

Wan Ting wants me to kill cockroaches everyday, from my 22nd till she gets me another geeky/funky stuff.

IMG_5053 So now I have some big ass cockroach on my desk.

And a sign which…. I cannot possibly put at my door.

Olivia Wilde top the chart!

From Maxim

She’s #1!!!! Megan Fox is next, and Adriana Lima is somewhere….after Olivia. Sheez, I’m seriously going to start watching House. Not a medical drama fan, but Olivia’s a doctor….omg….and she’s mysteriously called Thirteen.

Doctor and Thirteen.

I love 13.

Anybody has House season 4?

Update: Apparently Thirteen came about because when Olivia was brought by the original fellows, there were a total of 40 potential brought in. Everyone wore a number on bibs, and hers was 13.=D

What’s a fridge for?

hot weather

I wish for some ice in the office tomorrow. Otherwise I’m going to be peeved. Two fridge and no ice? Ice water container with barely any ice water? Damn.
